DiscountSmart Card Inc. was created after a lengthy discussion among friends who wondered what they could do to help their neighbors protect their families and support local businesses through these difficult economic times.
The idea is amazingly simple. Connect shoppers to local business owners. An increased customer base means small businesses can enhance their buying power and save money. The businesses can then pass along the savings to customers with special pricing. This allows customers to keep more of their hard-earned money in their pockets. The local economies thrive and together, we support one another through a tough economy.
Today, the DiscountSmart Card is poised to be a major discount card that serves all people who desire to enjoy tremendous savings in their everyday purchase of goods, services and other household items from local vendors.

Our Team
Charles Dwamina President and CEO, co-founded DiscountSmart in January 2009, after a lengthy discussion with his friend and partner Wayne Doe. The idea was born from a desire to meet the needs of hardworking friends and family, by helping them save money on basic goods and services when they visited local businesses in their neighborhood. The concept is simple; DiscountSmart negotiates with local vendors for substantive savings and transfer those savings to members of a discount club, while increasing traffic and profits to individual small business. Individuals secure the discountsmart card through the discountsmart website, present it to the vendor and receive a discount. As Chief Executive Officer and President, Charles provides the overall strategic direction for the company. Charles brings a strong marketing expertise and experience around the customer.
Charles is an Entrepreneur and Banker. Haven been employed with Wells Fargo for over 15 years, Charles held various positions of trust, as an Accountant, Business Analyst, and Banker during his time at Wells .Charles enjoyed a career that spanned beyond his days at Wells Fargo. Prior to joining Wells Charles worked as a marketing manager with Mobile Oil Liberia, where he was responsible for securing new leases for future services stations and negotiated to retain existing relationships, he secured new accounts and maintained existing relationships with government and local business entities. He led all of the organization’s Marketing and property acquisition initiatives. Prior to this role, he held a top post at the International Trust Company of Liberia where he served as Assistant Treasurer and Bank Relationship Manager.
Charles began his career in 1989 with the Insurance Company of Africa a division of the ITC bank of Liberia, where he served as Claims Adjuster. He coordinated the organizations medical claims review process and made cash settlement to various clinics and hospitals. His accomplishments include the implementation of new cost cutting measures and streamlining the claims process to avoid waste and shortened the time it took to remit payments to service providers.
Charles is a believer in empowering the less fortunate, by providing them skills that will enable them to fend for themselves. He is an advocate of the eradication of poverty in third world counties by spear heading the importance of self help through the entrepreneur spirit and creative ability of one’s self.
Mr. Dwamina received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Liberia and his Master of Software Systems, from St Thomas University.

Wayne Douglas Doe, Executive Vice President for Operations, is responsible for implementation of improved processes and management methods to ensure attainment of business plan for growth and profit. Wayne solicits, market and develops sales strategies to sign up new businesses and individual clients. Wayne is also responsible to build and maintain business relationships as a contact to deliver new enhancement and changes in discountsmart programs.
Prior to assisting in the creation of discountsmart as a viable business for communities, Wayne spent 16 years holding several different positions with Wells Fargo Bank MN including Consumer Branch Manager, Operations Manager, Work Director, Personal Banking Consultant and Customer Services Representative. His understanding of both financial market and products, and community relationship is combined with his awareness of new technology trends and the growing diverse demography that is important for the future.
Among his previous positions, Wayne served as Chair for the Minnesota Diversity Council and Co-Chair for the Pan African Connections Resource Group, a Employer-based team member group of Wells Fargo Corporation that provides resources and education, and connection to the community. He is the Board Chair for the All Nations Community Assistance Program, a North Minneapolis-based program for families, Founder of the Ralph Smedley Toastmasters Club in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, Board member of the Alumni and Friends of Konola Academy Incorporated, USA and Board member of Equality, Inc., a non-profit association help individuals, families and landlords work together.
Wayne Doe holds a Master degree in Geology and Mining Engineering from the St Petersburg Mining Institute and Technical University in Russia and numerous certificates in banking, finance, management and leadership training
